The Law of Equivalent Exchange

I never step on a single crack
My small way of protection
The least I could do for your sacrifices
The weight of it all resting on your back

I was once a parasite inside of you
Leeching off your lifeforce
But our lives are forever entwined
Can’t sever a connection that is true

The law of equivalent exchange
Can never apply to a mother’s love
